Wine tasting Miquel Oliver

18 of March 2021 Thursday, we visited bodega Miquel Oliver. There we go again with one of our favourite things to do on the island. Visiting a bodega and taste their wines.

Some of their wines we already had on our winelists, so lets check what is new and special.
First we were welcomed by Isabel

They call her the “crazy woman with the ideas” she is decisive, energetic, cheerful and creative; she has solutions for everything. And the fact is that Isabel is full of energy… of the good sort! She is also meticulous, fun and has initiative. The enthusiasm and affection she puts into all of her visits will capture you. Tell Isabel what you would like to celebrate and she will surprise you with her ideas and organisation. She is good with people, languages and friendly words in any language. It is impossible not to get along with her.

The building housing the new winery is located on the outskirts of Petra and is surrounded by its vineyards. Functionality has predominated in its construction and it has been designed to be spacious and feature the latest technology. The priority when designing it was to optimise and control each step in the wine-making process: the proximity of the vineyard, grape reception, fermentation, barrel aging, bottling, aging in bottles, labelling and storage. And we are happy to experience this.

The old winery, which is very beautiful and of great architectural value, is located in the town. Its walls have watched history go past from a special position and have written the story of Miquel Oliver for a hundred years.

Nowadays they make no longer wine there, but it has been turned into an open space. Under its vaults and within its walls, they now hold events for small groups. Visits, tastings and samplings that enable them to shut the world out and enjoy a hospitable and special environment.
The winetasting we did was in the new Bodega and al there modern technology. Isabel showed us the whole process creating their wines.
We always looking for the special wines and Isabel let us taste everything we wanted. It was a nice day and wine tasting.
